thanks to AT&T our network is in a double NAT 😕 they require their router to be connected for authentication and our current cisco router sits behind that
so naturally I've been messing around with the setup. I've got a server that happens to have four gigabit nics so the plan is to have that be the router
I tried pfSense but it turns out there's no solutions to forward auth packets to the att router that work with freebsd. that and my cisco router for not take well to becoming a switch
current plan is: new switch on the way + openwrt. the att router will be attached to the third nic on my server and get auth packets forwarded to it. bye bye double NAT
